Janet McCullough Northern IrelandJanet is married, has two children and lives in Carrickfergus where she attends Woodlands Presbyterian church. Janet was converted from a background of alcohol addiction and volunteered for Stauros for some time before joining the staff team. As a volunteer she helped with administrative duties as well as reaching womenwith substance abuse issues, and she became a full time member of staff in September 2009.As a trained counsellor, Janet volunteers with Christian Guidelines on a regular basis, and this compliments her Stauros ministry. She oversees a Stauros meeting that takes place on alternate Friday mornings in Woodlands Presbyterian Church, Carrickfergus. From time to time she runs “Christianity Explored” and “Freedom in Christ” courses when the people from her pastoral visitations require it. She helps Pam Brown deliver the Stauros courses “Tackling Addictions”, “Family Dynamics” and “Relapse Prevention.”The main focus of Janet’s Stauros work is among women, especially helping them move forward from finding sobriety to growing asindividuals and believers. She works closely with other agencies within her local community as opportunities arise. There are people from the community who have been reached in this waywho come to the Stauros meeting.
